Restore/Rebuild/Refurbish

Should I restore this piano? Maybe it should it be rebuilt? What If I had it refurbished?  The answer to these and many other questions are likely to present themselves when we start discussing your piano.  If the purpose is historical accuracy, then a full restoration is likely the best answer.  The cost of research and investigation as well as the production of unique parts can be recovered.  If an antique instrument is being returned to its rightful place in the performance world, then a complete rebuild project including a new design is likely a good choice.  While usually not as expensive as a full restoration, it will involve a lot of time in the design phase before we start buying parts. If it is to be a beautiful piece of furniture only, then a refurbish project will likely fill the bill.  You can usually limit expenses and cross areas together but remember this, at its core, a single project goal has to be selected before work begins to guide the decisions inherent in every project.
